Unable to reach the summit of Mount Hood for the 2008 Summit for Heroes on June 7th due to training obligations, members of the Clackamas County Sheriffs Office and the Search and Rescue Team were able to make the summit a few days later. Photo provided by Sgt. Scott Napoli.

Keith McPheeters and Stu Frink stand on the summit of Borah Peak, the 12,662 foot summit of Idaho during the 2003 September 11 Memorial Climbs. They hold the summit banner created for the first annual September 11 Memorial Climbs and a traditional Cops on Top team banner that had been flown on the summit of Denali in 2001.

Officer Thomas Steiner 2005 Mount Elbrus Memorial Expedition shadowbox presented to the Steiner Family.

This recently completed shadowbox was presented to the Thomas Steiner Family at a recent memorial ceremony. The display contains an American Flag, flown on the summit, the Cops on Top summit banner, signed by the team members, a memorial plaque carried to the summit, and a rock from the summit. Mount Elbrus is the highest mountain in Europe and is located in Russia. The memorial items were also carried by the team to the summit of Mont Blanc, the highest mountain in Western Europe and highest mountain in the Alps. Our thanks to Robert Maynard of the CHP for facilitating the presentation.
